I find them a little richer and fuller (excluding the twang-to-shrill possibilities of a bright bridge pickup); Strats, on the other hand, to my ears have a softer attack, a more rounded, looser sound and a little more bounce.

The Deluxe Reverb is excellent (Oxford Speaker with some really nice mic choices). It immediately works easily with the HX Deluxes. Quickly 'grab' an SM7 and 121 or 421 and 160 and get a great tone. If you intend to use it with the volume up / gain down to hit the front end of the amp, you might prefer the stock version since the bass roll off will keep the lows tighter and more defined.
