I first replaced thermostat, which is doable, but not an easy task. Located on top of motor passenger side. Have to pull air Intake to get to it. The easy way to reset the steering assist reduced warning message by restarting the SUV 2-3 times. If a simple software glitch causes the message, it should be gone. Another method is to disconnect the negative battery cable and reconnect it after 1-2 minutes. These methods work only for simple software glitches.2019 GMC Acadia power steering assist reduced!! So when i get home i would keep taking off the negative battery terminal and retighten it. Clear the fault and drive again. I finally realized that i was tightening it down to tight and put a groove in the battery terminal.
