If you're using the Blood scaling type, you can't grease it. You'll have to use Standard scaling. I think if a weapon causes a passive effect you can't put a grease of the same effect on it. I'm running a bleed build right now and it won't …

It depends if you want to do a bleed build or not. I would say the bleed build is overall probably stronger, but some enemies are immune to bleed, so keen will be more consistent. There are many Katanas with unique ashes of war, but it mostly depends on your playstyle. However, the Nagakiba is the best katana for almost any build for it's absurd range, put whatever ash of war you want on it and it makes it hit 10x as often, at the cost of having a bit of a worse scaling than the Uchigatana.
