Gt4 allocation.
Someone wiser than I who had configured many Porsches in many different colors told me that with a car like the GT4/Spyder, where the lines really make the beauty of the car, a dark color will hide a lot of that. The lighter colors show off the body of this car much better and therefore might be better suited.
Now I’m hearing rumors that the 718 GT4 production cycle is permanently ending, only previously allocated cars are being built and no more allocations will be offered. If this turns out to be true, I’m concerned that the pre owned GT4 prices are destined for the moon and if used is my only option, I’d like to get in one before that happens.So the speeds sheet will be the same: Forum handle; Dealership, Date on the wait list; wait list number if applicable; Order Date, 3000 Date, TWP, Build Date, Delivered date. 11/19 As I said what a Mess. Eventually, I got the call that I got an allocation and bought it. I currently have a $3k deposit for a 718 Spyder RS based on rumors. I'm first on their list as apparently no one else asked them about it. 718 GT4 for $130k is a steal. Objectively speaking, yes, you should buy it. Ultimately only you could make the decision though. If you were offered a GT4 allocation for sticker, and don’t mind waiting 6mo-1yr+, that’s also an option. 981 GT4s are typically going for around the ~100k mark, so that’s another option.

We had a period this year where there were no allocations from May until November, and since then, it seems like it's more like 3-4 months between November's allocation and when the car is expected.

A dealership local to me offered a 2022 718 GT4 allocation for 10k above MSRP and my god it was the hardest decision to turn it down. A fully loaded GT4 was around 115k which would be 125k and I just didn't think I needed the power of the GT4 since I wasn't going to track the car. For those years, I think the GT4 is worth the extra money for the flat six. Other than that, the GTS is my pick, especially for 65k less. Buy the GTS and use the saved money to buy a tune, downpipe, and put a supercharger in it. They make a kit that turns the engine into a 4.5 L forget the name of it.
