Overall yea some pets aren't that great. Unfortunately I haven't seen a good yeti yet. Some pets with the right perks and growth vhance are amazing though. For example I had got a greater feral dog (isle of siptah) strength 75 ( base +perks). Gave him a crazy 750% bonus melee damage. Training a sabertooth.
