My parents feel they need to bring a few boxes of food because the grocery store shelves maybe empty and we may not find essentials. Um "great beaches, great snorkeling"...ST JOHN. Costa Rica is an amazing Country to visit. It is not, however known for either great beaches or great snorkeling. We love CR and find St John somewhat overhyped and overpriced but it does have amazing beaches and snorkeling not to mention food! 2.
VILLA: We stayed in Peter Bay. When filtering villa rentals, it seems on St. John, needing 5 bedrooms puts you in Peter Bay, or at least by the time I started looking, it did. Lots of breeze there to keep bugs off, but still a lot of mosquitoes and no-see ums. We took a spray this year called Sawyers Insect Repellant with 20% picaridin and had fewer bites.
