Dual class is a lot of fun. Yes, it's stronger than single class, but it opens a ton of interesting build options and you can always increase the difficult of encounters. We tend to run APs at even level, dual class, with 3 players, or 2 players with +1 level, treating our dual class combos as +1 level.

Psychic is honestly one of the first caster classes I would recommend to a new player besides the bard. They are better at cantrip spamming (aka the thing most casters do at lv1) than any other class, the playstyle is pretty intuitive and unlike a wizard or a witch you can be effective even if you got the "wrong" spells or wasted all your slots.
The reason is that PF2 doesn't multiclass the way other systems do, so your Class drives how your character operates. In this case, being Bard then multiclassing Fighter doesn't really do much for you, you get some Fighter feats but your Proficiency is set by your class.
