Revit models are assemblies of things like wall buildups of layers and then 2d details fill in the extra information. It takes a lot of training to use Revit to model all the fundamental elements like top and bottom plates, studs, trusses, wall skirting etc. SketchUp is basic but it can quickly model all the elements a builder works with.
