River Levels and Weather. MCD monitors the weather and collects precipitation and river level information at river gaging stations to understand current and potential river conditions. MCD has been cooperating with United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the National Weather Service (NWS) for more than 100 years to gather this information.

We started at the Loveland Canoe & Kayak Rental drop-in point (we had to call ahead and ask to drop in there, as well as sign a waiver before entering the water) and continued along the river until we reached Milford, where River Dogs Paddlesports has a pull-out point.
