1 post · Joined 2014. #1 · Sep 19, 2014. I have a 1996 Vulcan 750 with 13,000 miles. When I bought it, it was obvious I needed a new battery. I bought a new battery, all was good. 2 weeks later Turn Signals / Hazards went out. Bike still started and ran fine.

So I bought my first Vulcan this week, 2006 1500 Classic FI went and looked at it the guy said they had it running earlier but it cranked over slow so he replaced the battery before I got there. Since replacing the batter it would instantly kick the DFI fuse as soon as you flip the ignition on.Simply place one end of the voltmeter on the neg battery post the other at the starter housing, or fastener bolt. Hit the starter switch. The reading should be less than a volt. 4 months ago I bought myself a 2000 Vulcan 1500 nomad with 54k miles from a craiglist add. All looked good when I checked it out and drove it home just fine. I turned the bike on 3-4 times the following days to check it out and all was normal. I was gonna take it out and I fell on the right side onto wet grass.

I always shut the Vulcan down in neutral due to the key being down on the clutch side. Seen to many guys use the kill switch to shut down and forget to turn the key to off and deplete the battery.
