The RAV4 is not as big as you think , its taller and you ride higher, but its footprint is closer to the prius then it is to a full size suv. The prius entire focus is on mpg, mine drove fine but it was slow and heavy, sometimes felt like a boat. Its all about aerodynamics, and being able to coast through winds.

The Rav4 is a decent car but it's overpriced by about $5k. It has one thing going for it: it's a Toyota, which means it'll probably last a while. If that's the most important thing to you, buy the Rav4. But other than that, it's a worse value than almost every one of its competitors (particularly the CX-5, CR-V, Tucson, and Rogue). Go with the corrolla. RAV4 Hybrid. It's physically shorter by a couple of inches front to back than the Corolla, which makes maneuvering in the city easier.
