From tests, the 2-2-2-1 5/2/0 TSG is the most powerful. If you are going to be using a lot of towers in the range of the TSG, then 2-2-1-2 might be good, as it is only a little weaker and makes all nearby towers cheaper, etc. Edit: the 5/0/2 is better than the 5/2/0 only in that you don't need a village for camo.

You would overpower more than one of each, given their indefinite range and ability to destroy ceramic and concealed balloons. Anyway, Mortars are definitely much better than they used to be in BTD5, and feel like a tower worth using. Edit: Micro (or micromanagement) is when you quickly change the targeting of a tower.
