I stepped down from being RXOM last year. My DM tried to decrease my pay back to what I was making pre-RXOM (which was only 16.50) and wasn't considering the cap or that I was going to be a senior tech. I skipped straight from tech to RXOM though, I wasn't ever in the senior tech position first.When the RxOM position was created, senior tech capped at 20, so they would all have started at the minimum of 22.50. RXOM is a pathway to store manager. If you want a store then yes, it's probably worth it, even though many aspects of the job will suck. If you have no interest in becoming SM, then I'd NOPE right out that offer. Rxom is good if you want manager experience. Its also good if the rxm allows you to be an actual rxom.

It will take a little time to get into the groove of being RXM and how you like to run things. Biggest pain is dealing with your employees and their complaints and lack of following directions. My advice would be to work at a lower tier store as rxm, you will actually have time during your shift to get rxm stuff done.RXOM is absorbing a lot of the managerial and inventory duties. So yea anything that isn’t in your job description I would stop (Then again if the rxom is petty he can just delegate them to you 😅). Conversely if you’ve been a sr tech 10+ I would just apply to any open RXOM reqs. Don’t let them take advantage of you. 5.
