Disassembling a Ruger AC556 is a relatively easy task. First, ensure the rifle is unloaded and that the magazine is removed. Push the barrel release button located above the trigger guard. Pull the barrel out of the receiver and set aside. Push the bolt release button located on the left side of the receiver and allow the bolt to travel forward.
