Dec 27, 2011 · Hey there. i'm quite new with Revit and i just started to place the beams of the building. My problem is after i create the beams - i can't see the on plans. Before I embark on doing a better job and sorting out my current library are there any key things to consider?

So, you either create drafting patterns that will scale correctly at 1:5, 1:10, 1:20 etc or, if these cut patterns are going in specific families and you always want them to appear correctly you could nest a detail ... Set the view to hidden line. Turn off the override on the walls all together. Then go in the material editor and set the walls core layer Material to have a solid gray hatch as the cut pattern. Manage ribbon > materials > select whatever is in wall core > graphics tab > cut pattern.From the “From” list, choose: Top. February 18, 2014, 08:21 AM. Each building related files are linked into each other using Origin to Origin (Arch, Str, MEP, etc) Shared coordinates are use to georeference your building. You use the arch file to acquire the coords from the site file then you propagate to all the others. Very simple process actually.

Structural will use Floors for everything (floors can have cut profiles), Arch Roof sits on top of the Struct Floor. Same for floors. Struct own the floor and Arch puts another on top for finishes.
