Cub cadet international 782.
CubNub: I re-powered my 782 with an M18, and I'm very happy with it, but it wasn't a motor that came from a Cub Cadet, and it needed several "adaptations" not least of which was the crankshaft diameter at the PTO (Cub Cadet uses 1-1/8" ID PTO). I can mount a 1" dia B&S PTO, or get a Maytag crank adapter to get that motor right.
Do you have the CCC 782 wiring diagram too? Judging by the black front axle and large serial number tag in the picture in his other thread, he has a CCC-built unit. None of the IH Cub Cadet Parts Manuals for the 782 reflect this option. However, that setup would be the same as seen on a Cub 1812 with a Kohler M-18, where that was a standard feature.

Runs rough because oil getting into carb from crankcase breather valve. Many recently replaced parts including coil, front tire, seat, and battery. Asking $550. Location. On my #2 125 I have one 26lb IH wheel weight per side but also have a full size battery and three 3/4" thick slabs of steel mounted out back. I got the 125 with the rear battery mod and the weight all added.
The 144782399 is not the serial number. It is a Model number. Here is the breakdown: 144- 1984 model year. 782- Tractor model 782. 399- IH Red paint scheme. The serial number would be the last six sequential of the lower number, which above is 737324.
