Go to auto zone or somewhere like that and see if they rent pressure testers for the cooling system, pressure up the system to 14-16 psi and watch for either the gauge to drop aand watch for a leak.

At idle I let the car get to temp the fans never come on. Water then boils over from the overflow. I let the car cool down, then started again. Not adding more fluid It could have been over filled.
