For me Dayz is easily one of the top 5 best games of all time IMO however, let's just be honest just like the OP said with the cooking pot- that was clearly just added by the Devs to just be another 'uber realism' mechanic even tho it's not realistic at all and shouldn't really be a thing it's just completely unnecessary.

Using a Cooking pot with water on the Gas stove and turning it on doesnt do much either. But you can surprisingly carry the cooking pot on the stove in your hands whilst it's cooking for you.
