Best melee weapon project zomboid.
What weapon or weapon type would you recommend for end game? Fairly new to the game and my first play through when I lived for a month. I started with lumberjack and used axes but I ran out of it. I had 3x but all been repaired a couple of times already and it’s getting harder to maintain them.

It's damage is insane at a whopping 8-8, where the next closest in terms of damage is the Sledgehammer at 2-3, which isn't the best weapon for combat due to it's endurance consumption and slow swing speed.
Jan 12, 2020 · Spiked baseball bat is y go-to. Cheap to repair and does nice damage. Spiked bbbat and wood axe. Wood axe = highest damage inflicte ingame. Is prolly as one shotty as a katana. (never found one!) Spiked bbbat 60% or so damage of Wood axe, easier to repair and lasts longer. Also possible to one shot. If you want to find these melee weapons you have kill some zombies. Oh wait a minute did i say "some" ? i mean lots a f*cking zombies. In order not to spoil the realism in the game, melee weapons are quite difficult to find and they are not OP all of them are balanced. WEAPON LIST. 1 HANDED. -US Taiga Machete.
as for an smg, a kriss vector would be a decent choice. it's one of the few guns you can actually use in full auto in short bursts, thanks to it's negligible time to steady. the fire rate is a nice bonus as well. I tried this mod a while back and thought it was pretty well made. Bushcraft Gear - Tools. There's also another mod in the same series that adds slightly more exotic but much rarer weapons. Your weapon of choice will be either the Pick Axe or the Axe (Red). The Hand Axe is great for leveling your Axe skill further. The Wood Axe is a decent choice.

If you can get an axe or any twigs, make spears (but use them expecting them to break on you at any point, so have a backup ready like a hammer) #10. Also, to answer the question, the best melee weapons ingame in terms of raw damage are the long blade weapons (machete and katana). When it comes to durability nothing beats the crowbar (It also has a high knock down chance and good damage). Short blade weapons are heavily underestimated. Especially the hunting knife. You can get 2 long blunt and 1 maintenance at the start if you pick Handy, Brawler, and Baseball Player which makes crowbars hit very hard and last basically forever. Also easy to find pretty much anywhere. Axes deal the most damage and have good ranges. Lumberjack makes them even more strong. Long blunts have a lot of variability, the crowbar is probably the best weapon in game overall, then you have the shovel that hits very hard, slow and without any stamina cost.
