For instance: In the "1999" folder, there is a bunch of photos that we assume is from around 1999 - but there is mostly no meta data on the files. My problem is that I feel Google Drive is not so very well for looking at photos, and my hunch is that there is smarter ways and services to share a lot of family photos like this.

Well, even "most trusted" software can't tell you truth that hidden behind drive's firmware. While it is de-facto standard for manufactures to implement internal diagnostic aka S.M.A.R.T that runs on internal hdd's CPU, many of them resist to show full truth.

You could also put the URL for each wiki into archive.org's Save Page Now so that anyone can access it. Either way, without scripting, you'll have to do some manual labor to get the URL for each wiki.
