And it's funny; now that it's installed and I've put some butt time behind it, it fits perfectly with my 2010 C6 GS Vette platform, and should have come from the factory like THIS for the money they charged folks (10 years ago).

Just a note - I purchased the adaptor for the standard C7 shifter, but the MGW shaft is slightly larger in diameter, preventing the adaptor from sliding completely down on the shaft. The screw size though could well be different for your mgw shifter. You don't have to buy the screw with the washer attached, just buy a screw and washer separately if you have to. I do road course work (banging down from 5'th straight into 2'nd at the end of most straights), so I grasp the shifter like is a broom handle from the side with my thumb upwards, while some guys do strip work of just ripping through the gears up one at a time, and they grasps the shifter palm on ... The "Flat Stick" has a small collar that locks the ball to the brass thread they epoxy into the ball in whatever direction desired. They supply a special wrench to tighten in the shifter kit. But IMO a large round shape like a 2 1/4 inch diameter cue ball size helps especially with my often used 4th to 7th shift.

Every shifter for the C5/C6 is nothing but a straight stick that is inserted in a hole that is in the shifter block that gets fastened in the tunnel.
