Since it can drop duplicate gear I went from having 1/3 gear pieces to having 1/3 gear pieces by going from just enough spellements for 8 pip dark and stormy to 100 over, then I gave up and crafted. In the time it will take you to farm a full mercy set you could easily quest through Novus (a comparatively short world) and start farming Aeon. All Novus farming dungeons almost always have instant team up since lots of people are still farming for Aeon sets and pins.
