To up the distance you are expecting your console or PC to be running a full server and the game. You need a really decent PC to be able to do that so you could run a full dedicated. Find an unofficial server that meets your needs and play on there.

I would assume there is a similar feature for Xbox unless it literally can't handle more than the default. Its called Host boundary. It has a limit of 178 meters.
